With the improvement in technology, ultrasound machines have become more portable and are available with a better resolution. Ultrasound also considered as extension of physical examination. Ultrasound is widely used in hospital.
A prehospital setting is a unique, most likely noisy, and often limited space. Traditionally, diagnostic tools used in prehospital settings are based on history taking and physical examination. These methods cannot be sufficient to diagnose certain conditions, ultrasound can change the diagnosis and treatment in prehospital condition. Prehospital US has a variety of applications, such as focused assessment with sonography in trauma, assessment of cardiac arrest , lung US. This section will discussed present and future application of prehospital ultrasound.
