POCUS has now become an integral part of emergency medicine because it is non-invasive, free of ionizing radiation, rapid, portable, repeatable and relatively low cost. It can be performed at the bedside by the emergency physicians in a time-sensitive manner. It also allows real-time dynamic examination of the musculoskeletal system and dynamic guidance of bedside MSK procedures.
In this session, we will discuss the basic concepts and practical aspects of the applications of POCUS for management of some MSK problems in the emergency department through a series of cases.
