Late-Breaking Trials in Prehospital Airway Management
1TBD, University of Texas, United States of America
Airway management is a cornerstone resuscitation from life-threatening conditions such as cardiac arrest and trauma. Endotracheal intubation is a mainstay of paramedic prehospital resuscitation, but the safety and effectiveness of this intervention remains unclear. As an international recognized leader in prehospital airway management, Dr. Wang will provide an overview of the challenges of paramedic intubation highlighted by research over the last 20 years. He will also provide a detailed review of three recently reported landmark clinical trials of prehospital airway management: PART, Airways-2 and CAAM.
