The Role of Community in Enhancing the Chain of Survival

Cardiac arrest is worldwide public health problem. To improve survival after cardiac arrest, the chain of survival should be strengthened. In this session, we will look at the role of community in enhancing the first three rings of the chain of survival, from early access, early CPR and early defibrillation.
There are many strategies to enhance the first 3 rings of the chain of survival, ranging from raising awareness, community training, mandatory CPR programs, telephone CPR, AED first responder programs, AED placements, use of smart technologies and the use of data analytics to enhance the effectiveness of systematic efforts.
This talk describes the various strategies used in enhancing out of hospital cardiac arrest survival and examples of their implementation.
